Aim to get your daily recommended intake of water and in a few weeks you will begin to see a big difference in your skin.

Smoking is a guaranteed way to speed up the aging process, as leads to the development of wrinkles. Even if those wrinkles aren’t visible now, it will catch up with you. Drinking alcohol and eating junk food also leads to bad skin, so make a pact with yourself to avoid these treats for a year and see what a difference it makes to not only your skin, but also your body. The harmful toxins found in these foods can linger in your digestive system, so start the new year with a full detox, to jump start a new, healthy you.

Leave Those Pimples Alone!

It can be tempting, but picking at those pimples and spots can do a lot of harm to your face, especially is you suffer from acne. Once you squeeze a spot, the bacteria is then released onto the surface of the skin, which can cause further breakouts. If you use too much force, squeezing a pimple can also push the bacteria further into the pores, as well as transferring bacteria from your hands into your skin. This can lead to further inflammation, swelling and infection. If you have a breakout, try your best to keep your fingers away and wait for the spots to clear up themselves. If you have a particularly bad case, you can always look at alternative acne treatments.

Get Enough Beauty Sleep

The benefits of sleep aren’t a myth. Sleeping not only revitalises your body and mind, but it also does wonders for your skin. If you get less than 6 hours of sleep each night, it will likely be affecting the appearance of your face. If you make a conscious effort to get at least 6-8 hours of sleep each night, you can expect brighter, more radiant skin, less puffiness around the eyes and fewer wrinkles around the face.
